At second glance

Communication Design I / Projects I and II
3rd semester / Wintersemester 2018/19
Students: Melisa Sönmez and Seda Ugur
Supervisor: Prof. Michaela Köhler and Prof. Christiane Nowottny
Cooperation: Bezirksrathaus Zuffenhausen, aktive Stuttgarter e.V., BDS Bund der Selbständigen Zuffenhausen, Gewerbe- und Handelsverein Zuffenhausen e.V.

As part of the interdisciplinary project “mittendrin_district.lab.stuttgart-zuffenhausen”, a cross-media concept was developed on the subject of “Zuffenhausen, the negative changing into the positive”. The concept by Melisa Sönmez and Seda Ugur wants to draw attention to the garbage that can be seen in Zuffenhausen in many places. The idea of conceptually transforming the theme into an art project is remarkable. The aim of the students was to attract the attention of passers-by for a second glance in order to become aware of the situation and to rethink their own behaviour with regard to throwing away rubbish.

In the course of this seminar work, an exhibition, a book and the documentary trailer were created.
