New Zealand Travel Guide
Design Basics II
2nd semester / Sommersemester 2016
Student: Madeleine Maros
Supervisor: Prof. Sybille Wohlfarth
In 2016 I spent four weeks in New Zealand and left my heart on these wonderful islands. I have rarely been so fascinated by the untouched nature and the people as they are there. The inspiration during and after my trip was accordingly great. In the second semester we were given the task of designing a non-linear book and I decided on travel guides with texts and illustrations that I had already written and drawn on my trip.
The ball chain in the upper left corner allows the travel guide to be disassembled and adapted to any route – planned in advance or spontaneously. In addition, the handy DIN A6 format makes it easy to store in any backpack. On the first pages you will find useful information about hostels, car rentals, weather conditions and a few words on Maori. On the last pages there is space for your own notes and sketches. In addition, the small “New Zealand Package” includes a packing list with all important items for a backpack trip and small bags and cans to fill with sand.
