Wintersemester 2017/18
Students: Katharina Abrecht, Dennis Eberhardt, Vinzenz Eigler, Richard Haak, Yannica Meihack, Nina Seliger, Ridvan Yalcin
Supervisor: Alex Schlund
Cooperation: Eiden Porzellan Ulm
In the Technology IV/Prototyping II module in the Product Design course, our students got to know porcelain as a material. For this purpose we went to the small but fine porcelain manufactory Eiden in Ulm. Dagmar Eiden was able to offer a lot of knowledge and experience and so the students and their lecturer Alex Schlund designed their own casting moulds from which cups and lampshades were made. The production process was so elaborate and contained so many small and fine steps that the committed students worked on their works even during the semester break. Many many thanks to Theresa, Jana and Dagmer Eiden, for your efforts and the deep insights into this craft, which has become so rare today.
