Idea:
With small reading books illustrated for children, children with stories about grandma Anne or grandpa Heinz will be told how important volunteer support is for seniors. Each story ends with the sentence “Grandpa or grandma is happy”. Through “reading aloud”, adults in dialogue with the children should become aware that they can get involved with older people in the neighbourhood or in Senioren AG facilities.

Task:
Conception, design and implementation of a multimedia campaign / event or a communication concept to promote voluntary work in senior citizens’ work.

Background:
Against the background of the demographic change (declining birth rate and simultaneously increasing life expectancy) the city of Gerlingen, represented by the Office for Youth, Family and Senior Citizens in cooperation with the AG Netzwerk Senioren, is taking up the challenge of recruiting new volunteers in the work with senior citizens in the future. A multimedia campaign and concepts are desired, which sensitize for this social problem, on the problem to make attentive and for new honorary aids in the senior work recruit.
